| When a panel of psychotherapists discussing a
case study at a recent conference failed to acknowledge the
displayed painting by the woman they were discussing I was reminded
of a remark by Pablo Picasso:
"Every child is an artist; the problem is how to remain
an artist once he or she has grown up".
It seemed that despite her pathology the woman had remained
in touch with something the clinicians hadnt. This presentation
invites those present to explore the question of how we can
effectively represent the experience of art making within
the language and practise of psychotherapy.
